5:42 pm - New Addition
|
Deimos: Wow it's been a while since we posted something here! Our human counterparts have been very busy as of late, especially since Daddy graduated from college and mommy is doing her full-time student teaching internship. We got to spend the winter over in Osceola County with mommie's parents. It was nice seeing them again, but it got so cold sometimes I thought we would freeze. It was nice coming back home though, I missed the environment.
Mommy brought home a new addition to the family. She adopted him when a friend of hers told her she knew a person had a budgie to adopt because the old lady that cared for him passed away. Mommy went to go make sure he was ok and she brought him home. He looks almost like me...except...he's blue. He likes to play with his bell a lot. I thought his name was budgie because every time I said budgie he'd chirp in response. Mommy then said his name was Bungie, because that is the name the old lady had given him. Maybe mommy will let me play with him after he's out of quarantine (for our protection, you are supposed to quarantine new birds for at least two weeks). He seems friendly, and all of us seem to have taken to him well.
So that makes 4 of us, to drive our parents up the wall. We are Deimos, Quaker, Ganon and Bungie! :D

6:12 pm - It's Cold!
|
Deimos: Wow! It was really cold this morning. I'm glad mommy decided to put the heat on, because I was about as poofed as I could get to keep myself warm. Daddy had to wake up early this morning, so I was up around 7 AM. As usual, the first words out of my mouth is "hi Mos!" Mos is a nickname I came up with all by myself when I first began speaking. In case you haven't noticed, it comes from my name Deimos. I like to put "mos" after everything when I talk including: budgiemos, himos, prettymos and more. My mommy thinks it is so funny that I do that.
I think I impressed everyone once again when I learned how to cluck like a chicken from my daddy. He would start clucking to me and I would listen curiously. After three weeks of repititious clucking, I finally started clucking and my parents could not stop laughing. I like making them laugh, because they make me laugh as well. My parents are so silly.
Ganon: Sometimes I just don't understand that parakeet. I love repeating my parents, and I usually say "hi Ganon!" I think my parents find it hilarious because they start laughing afterwards. I killed my bell not too long ago and am waiting patiently for my parents to get me a new one so I can gut that one as well. I have this thing for beating the tar out of shiny objects, it's in my personality.
I've noticed it's gotten considerably colder here. This is my first winter and I don't like it very much. I have been sitting on my swing poofed over my feet because it's cold. I am a tropical bird, I am used to temperate climates. Mommy says I'm so spoiled. :)

12:01 am - A new toy!
|
Quaker: Today my mommy got me a new toy. It is a burrito shaped treat with a bell hanging at the end that is filled with tasty treats. I spent most of today trying to maneuver my beak into the holes to get the treats. I think mommy wants me to work for my treats! At first I was scared of the new toy, but eventually my curiosity got the best of me and I began attacking it. Then I realized that there were tasty seeds inside, and I began nibbling away.
I like how my parents spoil me. It seems that almost every other week they have a new toy for me. It is especially soothing since I do not see mommy and daddy all the time; they seem to be very busy humans! I squawk every time I hear the door open because I know that one of them has come home. Thank you mommy for the tasty treat! I'm almost done devouring it all!

12:57 am - A Tribute to Atlas
|
This is a tribute to Atlas, our friend, our beloved pal, our brother. We know how much our parents miss and love him and we feel the same way too.
Quaker: Even though I have never met you, I'm sure I would have loved you just the same as I love Deimos and Ganondorf. I hope that you are happy doing all that a bird can right now, and that you will always remember our parents. They talk about you and say how much they love you and miss you, and I know that you will always be in their hearts. Rest in peace my brother, I love you because you are part of our family.
Deimos: You were my first sibling, and even though we have had our fights, I still miss you lots and lots. I know sometimes I wasn't the best, and even bullied you at times, but you are my brother and I love you dearly. I wish we could have spent more time together, but as long as you remember that I love you and our parents think about you, we are still together in spirit. I never meant to pick on you or bully you, but it was only natural since we lived together. You used to follow me around and I used to get annoyed by that, but how much I would give to have you follow me around again. We will see each other again someday, and I will be able to embrace you once again.
Ganondorf: Oh my brother, I only knew you for a few months. I still remember the times where you would preen me and sometimes you would do it too hard. I would make my squeal noise and our parents would check on us. I remember when we cuddle next to each other, and then five minutes later tap our beaks in playful fighting, and then preen each other. I remember when our parents would take us out and let us walk around, while I followed you around because I was only a baby. I looked like a splitting image of you, and I loved the times we shared together. Sometimes I would look around in hopes you will come back, because I was only a baby and did not understand you were gone. Now I know you have flown home, someplace where all birdies eventually go. I love you so much, and I miss you as much. Mommy and daddy talk about you, and as I have grown older I realize you are not physically here anymore. But you will be in our hearts forever. I love you.
( Pictures of Atlas )
We will never forget you 'little man', you'll always be in our hearts.
